Tease

Fall/Winter collections are starting to come out around now. This is more like it. None of that bronzer bollocks, embrace the pale.

First up, the Chanel F/W Collection. Its been out for ages now, naturally I only just caught on. The collection features a quad called "Enigma". Its to die for.

See what I mean? And at a cool NZD$124, whats not to love????? (Read; sarcasm. Thats expensive as!) Early Christmas maybe??

There are also 3 mini collections out from M.A.C that I'm mad about.

CATS! I Loveeee cats. I have a cat. Enter, Louis.

  • Burmese Beauty

  • Leopard Luxe

  • Palaced Pedigree

Reeeooooowwww! I really do love cats. I may possibly cave and get one of the quads at Duty Free if I can make up my mind about what I actually want. Im flying to Melbourne next tuesday. I actually want to buy heaps of alcohol since its my first time flying since I turned 18. Grown Up Life.

A Blog I follow Shades of U Makeup (http://www.theshadesofu.com/) has swatches, pictures and face charts for all 3 collections.

EDIT: Just went to M.A.C counter at Smith & Caugheys, Fabulous Felines is out September 6th and Venemous Villains is out October 9th

Practice Makes Perfect

Remeber that ball makeup i was harping on about?

Well i did a trial run today aaaaaaaaaaand this is how it turned out...

I only did the front bit of my hair because I'm laaaaaaazyyy. And I have ALOT of hair
Luckily I can take it easy on the day, because I have a fantastic hair appointment at Kokomo on Ponsonby Rd. Slllllick!

Sorry I cant show any pictures of the gown, my arms wouldn't reach that far. Plus, I took the bodice out so I could breathe and now it wont stay up. Whoops. Might have to add some straps...

A Debt of Gratitude

My FAVOURITE FAVOURITE FAVOURTIE Make-Up Artists on Youtube are Samantha & Nicola Chapman of "Pixiwoo" (http://www.youtube.com/user/pixiwoo?blend=1&ob=4)
My favourite looks include;

Their work is so stunning. They often do really technically challenging or dramatic looks which is perfect for someone like me who wont settle for normal, neutral and the same.

Its also great for people in the 'industry' who are trying to develop their skill or the range of looks they are able to execute.

I personally plan on doing a part time Make-Up course next year in conjunction with my study and I feel like Sam and Nic's tutorials have given me a great base to start learning from.

I know they have quite a few (150.000) subs on Youtube and so probably wont read this, but if by some miracle they do, I just want to let them know how knowledgeable, talented, stylish, entertaining and inspirational that have been to me. Not to mention gorgeous too!

I love incorperating parts of their looks with my everyday or going out Make-Up. Naturally I am nowhere near their level of skill, but I can try!

Wish List!

I have been craving M.A.C's Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat which was recently released with the "In The Groove" collection.Obviously as I live in New Zealand, we get collections significantly later than the USA and UK. HOWEVER, I went into my local M.A.C store and they were SOLD OUT! Insert sad face.

I'm in love with the raspberry veining, it's just the type of deep pink colour I favour for my blushers. The other problem is I have no idea how much it costs. Prices are considerably higher in NZ than elsewhere. I have been trawling e-Bay, all the listings there are pretty pricey. My one remaining hope is that I'm flying to melbourne next Tuesday, so I may be able to pick it up Duty Free.

Another whim I've been getting at the moment is for a Nintendo DS.

Strange for me as I'm not into video games at all and I've been pretty slow to pick up on this portable media phase. The allure is, the DS has an amazing selection of horse games! Kooky, I know. Not just the horse games, dogs, cats, wildlife in general. Untill I move out of 'Home' (not too soon I hope) and am able to acquire a menagerie of pets, I have to live my fantasies vicariosly somehow. The Brain Training games are pretty appealing too!
Apart from those few, tiny, insignificant, material wants, I couldn't be happier.

Ball Makeup

I have a Ball coming up on August 28th and being an aspirng beauty queen as I am, I am doing my own makeup. I have a gorgeous (and tiny!) Vera Wang strapless gown from one of her "Bridesmaids" collections.

So for makeup I decided to change it up a bit from a classic black smokey eye which I figure everyone will be doing, I am recreating the look Kirsten Stewart was sporting on the cover of Allure magazine recently, based off a tutorial by SarahVictor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkI_jzELQsA) on Youtube.

This is one of the few times I have actually liked Kristen Stewart's Makeup, if I'm brutally honest.

I managed to get Club eyeshadow from M.A.C off http://www.strawberrynet.com/ and NYX Ultra Pearl Pigment in Rust as a dupe for M.A.C's Cranberry. I also plant to add some false lashes and a darker lip colour to make it a little more dramatic as per my stlye. Hopefully I can get a bit more toned and make my skin lovely for the big event!

6 Products I Cant Live Without

A Tag from a while back

1. M.A.C Studio Fix Powder in NW30.
I bought this for my 6th form Ball and it has served me well ever since. Gives really full coverage for a powder but you have to be carefull not to put it on with wet or oily skin or it cakes and goes dark. I naively purchased NW when I'm NC but it works just fine and I Wouldn't be without it.

2.Aqueous Cream.
I have eczema and therefore extremely dry skin so this cream which is literally just emmolient and water. Nice and simple and totally good for me.

3.Bobby Pins!
A staple item. Whe you really experiment with them you can create some stunning looks. I've also got a couple of pretty ones for a bit of decoration. When you've got as much hair as me you go through quite a few of these!

4.Black Eyeliner.
This is Smoulder Eye Kohl by M.A.C. I use it on an almost daily basis in my waterline and lash lines. Its really inky dark which I love and iut makes a great base for some of my more dramatic/darker looks. I also love to use it as a Lip Liner blended into a deep red lipstick. Blacktrack Gel Liner is another fave of mine

5. Narcisse Perfume by Chloe
This is my go-to perfume. I have a big and a little bottle so I dont run out and the scent really suits me (or so my boyfriend says). I love its rich floral fragrance, especially when it settles inti my skin and mixes with my bodies natural oils.

6. Smut Eyeshadow by M.A.C.
Smut is a smokey brown-grey colur with purple red undertones. I find it sits right between black and silver and is great for darkening up the crease or creating a smokey eye and the reddish undertones really suit my green eyes. I also love the grittiness of the name.
I hope these have been helpful or interesting to someone at least.
